Lexus ประกาศแผนการเปิดตัว LS โฉมใหม่ปี 2013 ครั้งแรกในโลกในวันที่ 30 กรกฎาคมนี้ที่เมืองซานฟรานซิสโก สหรัฐอเมริกา โดยปฏิเสธที่จะให้ข้อมูลรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติม นอกจากจดหมายเชิญที่มอบให้สื่อมวลชนทั่วโลกเดินทางไปทำข่าวในวันดังกล่าว
คาดการณ์ว่า LS รุ่นใหม่จะมาพร้อมกับชุดบอดี้คิตที่ทรงพลังยิ่งขึ้น ล้ออัลลอยใหญ่กว่าเดิม และปรับเซ็ทช่วงล่างใหม่ทั้งหมด มีรุ่นย่อยทั้ง LS 460, LS 460 L (รุ่นฐานล้อยาว)และ LS 460 F SPORT เวอร์ชั่นสปอร์ตที่ติดตั้งชุดแอโรพาร์ทรอบคัน สำหรับขุมพลังของทั้งสามรุ่นย่อยอาจเป็นบล็อก V8 ความจุ 4.6 ลิตร ให้พละกำลังสูงสุด 357 แรงม้า แรงบิด 497 นิวตันเมตร ซึ่งเป็นสเปกเดียวกับที่ใช้อยู่ในรุ่นปัจจุบัน
